Collabosaurus: Top 3 Ways Bloggers & Brands Grow on Instagram
A world without videos + infographics would be a very sad place. Well, being that theright.fit is in the space of disrupting the industry norm – that’s what we think anyway! We sit down with Jessica Ruhfus, Founder & CEO of Collabosaurus, for her top 3 ways bloggers & brands can grow on Instagram…
Despite the recent algorithm changes on Instagram,
it remains a highly effective tool for growing your community
and building your brand.
The early days of building a following on social media can be frustrating, as the main problem is getting in front of new people in an engaging way! Here are our top 3 tips for growing a presence the right way and reaping the benefits in a short space of time.
1. Collaborate & cross promote
Collaborating with brands or influencers who share your target market is a great way to gain exposure with the right people. How many times have you discovered a new account because a brand you already follow has mentioned them? Cross promotions and partnerships are one of the most cost effective, impactful marketing techniques to grow your following and presence.
It’s a great idea to think about what other brands your customers are engaging with – this will help inspire some partnership ideas. Think competitions, joint products, info-products (webinars, blog posts, photography) and events as a way to engage your existing following, as well as new customers – particularly on social media.
For influencer partnerships, there are a lot of great platforms to connect with influencers, such as theright.fit. Collabosaurus is also a great tool for both influencer AND brand-to-brand partnerships that don’t require a budget spend, only an exchange of assets for mutual benefit (it works like a dating site for brands!)
2. Clean up your feed
You have all of 1 second to make an impression on a new visitor. The quality of your photos, theme, consistency and grid layout is more important than ever! Think about colour themes, the communication of consistent messages & content, picture quality and keep ‘the grid’ in mind, as this is your big opportunity to make an impression! There’s a new app about to be released called Plan Your Gram that allows you to drag and drop images into a preview grid – worth keeping an eye on.
3. Test, test, tweak & engage
Try posting at different times of day, and different days of the week to test out engagement. On Instagram, engagement is your best friend and posting times have a lot to do with getting great results! Iconosquare has an analytics feature that indicates the best times of day to post for your account based on your engagement history. You can then schedule your posts to go out at the best times with platforms such as Schedugr.am.
It’s also incredibly important to engage with all comments on your posts and engage with other brands as well. It’s the best (albeit time consuming) way to build rapport with your community, maintain great engagement rates and get noticed by other accounts.
