Salt in the air, sand in my hair: Life of a globe-trotting model

  • Wed 16th Dec 2015

When she’s not globe-trotting and looking incredible sprawled out in the sun in her hottest bikini, Nevena Tepic is based in Sydney working & playing hard as a model and as a savvy business woman running her online bikini website Mee & Mi with her bestie.

Let’s face it, the girl has a good life. When she’s not shooting by the beach she’s surrounding herself with nature, the ocean, national parks and good friends. Her Instagram page (@nevenatepic) tells all the tales but, we wanted to find out a little bit more about her…

About-MeeandMi

Right now I’m listening to…

The Weeknd

My wardrobe consists of…

Recently when I was packing for a trip I had my clothes laid out on the bed and realised my entire wardrobe consisted of white, black and grey, some denim and a hint of red here or there. I am all about comfort over style and I would love to be able to always get away with dressing comfy

My favourite job to date would be…

I had the opportunity to go to Vanuatu to film a video clip for new music video. On one of the days we filmed at a beautiful 5-star resort. We were meant to leave the island after only two days but then the resort asked us if we would like to stay at the resort for another week to shoot their new advertising material for the hotel. We shot for one day out of the 7 and the rest was free for us to do as we like. Breakfast, lunch & dinner were supplied to us everyday and drinks by the bluest waters I have ever seen in my life, it truly was the best job to date. I got really lucky on that shoot, all the stars just seemed to align.

Words to live by…

I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given in your modelling career…

The best piece of advice that I was given in my modelling career was to focus on my strengths as a model rather then to push for something I might not be suited to. I loved fashion and runway but was always being told I was too short and not necessarily the right measurements. I found areas in the industry that I was the right fit for (no pun intended) and this  helped me book lots more jobs.

What’s your favourite thing about the modelling industry…

I love working with and meeting new people as well as working on new projects all the time. The odd job with travel involved is also a huge bonus! I love the variety of the work it keeps it really exciting.

How do you keep your body in such amazing shape…

I’m really not a huge fan of the gym, I find it really difficult to motivate myself to train alone. I love to play sports or learn new skills, I find it the most the most appealing way to stay interested. I am currently learning to surf. It’s so much fun and amazing for your core, as well as your legs and bum. I also love hiking, playing tennis and riding my bike. I think the key is to keep your workouts interesting & changing it up, find a sport you love to play, or a new skill you would love to learn. This makes it so much easier to get out there and work out whilst having fun.
