Social royalty share ‘Selfie to Superstar’ secrets at Yahoo7’s Vivid Ideas event

Last night, Yahoo7 presented a line up of social heavyweights including fitness guru and ex- Roosters player, Dan Conn; Alyce Tran, co-founder of luxury fashion brand success story, The Daily Edited; as well as YouTube star and radio host, Tanya Hennessy, who led their 2017 Vivid Ideas event – ‘Selfie to Superstar’.

The panel discussion explored the new breed of ‘influencers’ disrupting the role of traditional celebrities on social media and finding social and commercial success through strategic, authentic and high-quality content. As social platforms take over our daily habits and mobile technology becomes more advanced, content creators have the opportunity to take their social presence from mere ‘selfie’ to established commercial property, like never before.

The event’s stellar line up of industry experts also represented consumer and business brands including F45 Training, the right.fit, Wink Models and Yahoo7’s lifestyle platform, Be. Social media favourite and radio personality Tanya Hennessy was on hand to share her success story, including how she generated more than 65 million views of her ‘Everyday make-up tutorial’ on YouTube and Facebook.

Dan Conn: Influencer, Brand Ambassador and Global Athletic Director of fitness franchise F45 Training, and former player with the Sydney Roosters NRL team.

Alyce Tran: Fashion it-girl, entrepreneur and co-founder of luxury monogrammable leather accessories label, The Daily Edited.

Tanya Hennessy: Radio host, social media star and influencer

Taryn Williams: Business guru and Founder of theright.fit social influencer agency, and Wink Models

Lucy Chesterton: Media commentator, journalist and Head of Be, Yahoo7’s lifestyledestination (Moderator).

The panel provided invaluable insights for social media influencers and celebrities, content producers, digital marketers, community managers, startup founders, media agency professionals and brand managers alike.

Lucy Chesterton, Head of Be, moderated the panel and shared insights on content creation, influencer marketing and media partnerships from one of Australia’s largest publishers.
