I love being part of today's diverse cohort of confident, beautiful, mature women putting themselves out there, with all our different shapes and sizes, ages and abilities, looks and styles - lumps, bumps and all! We are the women we needed and deserved to see when we were young girls being force fed thinness, prettiness and sameness as the only 'normal' by the magazines and movies. We are dismantling the social conditioning that had us believe anyone not fitting into that conventional beauty standard box was ugly and unacceptable for the generations that follow us! Middle-aged women with bellies and lines on their face are often an underrepresented demographic in advertising but are a huge potential customer base just waiting to be appealed to. These women have money to spend on quality purchases and want to see women that look like them wearing the beautiful clothing and using the amazing products… Real women that make them feel like beautiful clothes and amazing products aren’t just for young, thin, pretty people with clear skin and perfect smiles! UGC is the perfect avenue to achieve this; it truly is a fantastic tool for ethical, inclusive brands to utilise.
