About
Liz Cantor first made waves in Australia as a professional surfer who competed on the Australian Junior Circuit for five years. Sponsored by Billabong, her surfing career took her to Fiji, Tahiti, the Maldives, Hawaii and Europe. She was also the first female Surf Judge to travel internationally on the World Surf League. She maintains her love of surfing today; even catching waves during her recent pregnancies.
Liz completed her Journalism degree in 2003. She considered studying Marine Biology, but her love of sharing stories and information pulled her towards a career in media. She combined her Bachelor of Communications degree from Griffith University Gold Coast, with a Meteorology course, through the Australian Bureau.
In 2005 she won reality television show The Mole, which kick-started her career with Channel 7. Later that year they hired her as a presenter on Queensland's water based outdoor adventure lifestyle program Creek to Coast and 15 years later she is still a presenter on the show in 2020!
These days she can also be seen presenting the Gold Coast weather for 7 News, the national live Gold Lotto and Powerball draws and on Sundays 5:30pm on newly renamed Weekender.
Cantor married ex Ironman Ryan Lysaught and has two son’s Kit and Fin, daughter Sky... and her dog Bear!
