Michelle Pownell

Michelle is a disabled content creator and model based in Brisbane. She is an ambulatory wheelchair user and also uses a rollator (wheelie walker) and walking stick – different aids for different days. She has a background in radio as an announcer and also in marketing. Michelle creates personalised hand stamped jewellery in her spare time. Michelle has collaborated with a number of Australian makers and brands, by way of content creation for social media, as a model in lifestyle fashion shoots, and also as a model in fashion shows. She loves wearing all the colour, and even her accessories, aka mobility aids are just as colourful to match. Michelle is passionate about showcasing how mobility aids are not something to be embarrassed about, and she would love to see more disability representation in mainstream media and marketing.
