Saraid Taylor

Saraid Taylor is an athlete, screenwriter, novelist and model. She is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, the University of Melbourne, with a Bachelor Degree of Fine Arts (Screenwriting). Her work was awarded an Australian Writers’ Guild Mentorship prize with Elise McCredie (Stateless), and further mentorship with Film Art Media’s Sue Maslin (The Dressmaker), A professional athlete, Saraid has been signed in the WNBL, NBL1 and AFLW leagues. She enjoys the collaboration that exists in a myriad of creative mediums, and her casting credits include modelling work for brands such as Spalding, Libra, the Australian Laser & Skin Clinic, Australian Red Cross ‘Lifeblood’ and Westfield Doncaster. She was a panellist for a collaboration between Our Watch and Vice Australia (Pedestrian TV), talking violence against women and its manifestations in Australian sport; and has appeared at festivals such the NYWF and EWF. Saraid lives on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. She acknowledges the continuing stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and pays deep respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander elders past and present, extending this honour and solidarity to all First Nations peoples around the world.
