Hi guys My days are spend in rural Australia, far from the hustle of the New York cat walks. Working on cattle properties all around Australia since I was 15 has been my life and the beauty of our land my backdrop every day. I have roamed from north Queensland's gulf country to the biggest cattle property in the world Anna Creek Station. My travels have put me on top of and hills and the bottom of sticky situations with cattle and horses. All giving me a great respect for this life and the stories we make for ourself along the way. Recently when at old Peake Station in South Australia, I jogged to the top of the oldest hills in the world. As I looked down across the jaggered rock, speckled with petrified wood and outcrops of white Quartz. I saw a resemblance to a couple of peaces from my current collection, with their earthy tones and free vibes. I started Hessian By Jayne in in 2016 after many years of designing and a love for fashion told me it was time to do this. Being camped out in mustering camps hundreds of km from a town has seen me with out phone service or Internet for months at a time, not to mention a long way from the latest Vouge or Elle magazines. When you know you are going to do something regardless, the hurdles don't seem so big at all. I am greatful for the purity of my surroundings that are able to take a new form in my designs. The beauty of nature translates into fabric form so well.
