Occupation/Talent: Model, Actress & Influencer
Location: Los Angeles
How long have you been a talent on TRF: 8 Years!
1. What inspired you to become a model, actress & influencer and how did you get started in the industry?
As a young girl, I loved to dress up, and fashion was a part of my world from a very young age. I had a trendy grandmother who sourced cool clothing from around the world. She inspired me to dress elegantly and express myself through fashion. I always had a passion for performing and found joy in expressing myself creatively. Also, watching inspiring performers on TV and in theater productions inspired me to do the same. I admired their discipline and enjoyment of the spotlight. Throughout my life, I gained a passion for storytelling, and acting allowed me to embody different characters and share compelling stories.
2. Can you walk us through a typical day in your life as a model, actress & influencer from start to finish?
A typical day starts with morning coffee… I love my coffee brewed nice and hot in the mornings, and then I will put on my favorite playlist and head to the gym to get my body moving first thing. If I have a shoot or audition later that day, I will start by reading through the brief and seeing what I need to prepare for. I love getting ready for shoots because it brings a smile to my face purely because I love getting paid to do what I’ve always dreamt of doing. And when I'm immersed in a job I love, I feel like I can be the best version of myself.
3. Are you a model, actress & influencer full-time/part-time, or casually? And how do you manage your finances and what strategies have you found most effective?
I’m currently part-time as I started my own business, so I am usually busy with that throughout my days now. But when I book a shoot or a project, I make that my biggest priority. Managing finances is not my strongest point, as I am definitely more creative, but I do what I can to manage and live the life I dreamt of.
4. What types of brand partnerships have you worked on in the past, and how do you decide which collaborations to take on as a model, actress & influencer?
I have worked with some incredible brands, from Gucci to CoverGirl. Normally, I take on the brands that I believe in and relate to. Fashion and beauty are my passions, so I always look for those first.
5.Can you share any tips for negotiating rates with brands, and how do you determine your own value as a model, actress & influencer?
Negotiating can be tricky because you don’t want to lose a client if you feel that they’re not willing to compensate fairly in return. I have been working in the industry for over 11 years now, so for me, I have established my self-worth alongside my experiences in the industry. However still to this day it can be difficult to negotiate with rates that are lower. To overcome this, I explain my experience to brands, and hope they acknowledge my skill set and compensate for what it's worth.
6. How do you stay updated with industry trends and best practices as a model, actress & influencer, and what resources do you rely on for education and inspiration?
I receive a lot of emails that I have subscribed to over the years, with advice from other creatives, businesses, and strategic development companies. I find that helpful to stay in tune with. I also watch a lot of trending reels and videos on social media, particularly Instagram, as I find the platform most effective and comfortable to use.
7. Have you faced any challenges or setbacks in your career as a model, actress & influencer, and how did you overcome them?
Of course! This industry has been the hardest thing, especially emotionally. Not having consistency and irrational decision-making from brands and corporations can be difficult to handle. I’ve realized how mentally draining it can get, and I have learned over the years to separate myself from the emotion and think logically when it comes to business.
8. How do you achieve work-life balance as a model, actress & influencer, even when life throws unexpected challenges your way?
Work-life balance is very important to me. I really love traveling and enjoying life as much as I can, within my means, and I live with the mindset that I am only on this planet for a short time, so I must make the most of my experiences while I can. In saying this, it can be tricky if I were to book a project and then need to be in LA or Australia to shoot it and my schedule didn’t align. Timing is everything in this field.
9. How do you see the model, actress & influencer industry evolving in the next 5-10 years, and what changes do you anticipate?
You have to be patient, have a strong mindset, and know that if you don’t get that role or job you wanted, then just know there are many more to come. Passionate persistence is the best remedy to staying in this field. Don’t give up if it's something you wholeheartedly believe in.
10. Can you share any upcoming projects or partnerships that you're excited about, and how do you plan to continue growing your brand as a model, actress & influencer?
I just finished modeling with the Hilton Group in Bali, so I am now looking for my next opportunity!
11. What advice would you give to aspiring models, actresses & influencers who are starting out and looking to build a successful career in the industry?
You have to be patient, have a strong mindset, and know that if you don’t get that role or job you wanted, then just know there are many more to come. Passionate persistence is the best remedy to staying in this field. Don’t give up if it's something you wholeheartedly believe in.
